The Table Nineteen Story

A new era of Table Nineteen is here…
revitalized brand + redesigned interior + refreshing energy

The Beginning: 1995-2014

Whistler based Table Nineteen first opened its doors under the name Joel’s Restaurant in 1995 along with the opening of Nicklaus North Golf Course. Over the years it transitioned to ‘The Den’ offering comfort food, and in 2014 into the original Table Nineteen Lakeside Eatery (Patio + Lounge + Restaurant) with globally balanced main and share plates.

After the initial introduction as “Table Nineteen” in 2014 at Nicklaus North, the restaurant soon grew to be known for offering a premier culinary experience in a stunning setting under the culinary vision and leadership of GolfBC corporate chef, Eric Gilchrist. The cuisine is meant to excite and intrigue, and features thoughtfully selected, locally available and ethically sourced ingredients with clever house-made twists. The creatively assembled cocktail list offers a selection of local craft beer, BC and international wines, and thought-provoking cocktails.

2020 Revitalization / Renovation Project

Olympic View was second to welcome the Table Nineteen brand after its flagship Whistler location, seeing extensive multi-phase improvements and renovations to both the building's interior and exterior. 2020 saw not only the extensive and multi-million dollar renovation of both the Nicklaus North and Olympic View clubhouses and restaurants, but also the revitalization of the original Table Nineteen logo and brand (by Vancouver-based firm Toolbox Design).

Table Nineteen’s new brand character focuses on being lively, fun, welcoming, entertaining, local, neighbourly, and familiar. The brand identity also includes a new logo, colour palette, and refreshed website.

The Interior Design

Designed by Evoke International Design, the interior spaces feature welcoming colours, refined natural elements, with strong geometrics balanced by curious designs and cozy lighting. While the overall aesthetic of the design is similar, each location features unique elements that are intended to complement the building’s architecture and the natural setting.

Nicklaus North: Whistler

The renovations at Nicklaus North included the addition of seating around a newly constructed lounge bar, a large fireplace, an inviting dining room, open sight-lines, an intimate private area near the dining room, replacement patio doors and windows, express café window facing the Golf Shop/Valley Trail, retractable privacy walls to transform the dining room into event space and more. Features included new flooring and ceiling, tables, chairs, audio, counter tops, lighting, large viewing screens, décor and functionality improvements for efficient service delivery.

Olympic View: Victoria

Formerly called Forester’s, the restaurant re-opened as Table Nineteen in 2020. At Olympic View the renovations included the front entrance/foyer, new tile flooring throughout the upstairs clubhouse, expansive floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the golf course, improved acoustic ceiling for visual aesthetic and sound proofing, lighting, upgraded audio/visual, eight new private washrooms, two bars with bar seating, multi-functional open concept layout with sliding wall capabilities to accommodate large groups, and dining and lounge furniture. This phase of the project followed a state-of-the-art kitchen, as well as a multi-functional banquet room renovation that was completed in 2018.

2023 Renovation and Launch of Table Nineteen in Kelowna

In October of 2023 GolfBC Group announced that an extensive clubhouse and restaurant renovation has commenced at the Okanagan Golf Club in Kelowna, British Columbia. The newly renovated restaurant is targeted to open in March 2024 under the Table Nineteen brand (previously Sarazen’s Restaurant).

The Interior Design

Hatch Interior Design (Kelowna) is continuing on the initial design vision of Evoke International Design (Whistler and Victoria) which focused on interior spaces that feature welcoming colours and refined natural elements with strong geometrics balanced by curious designs and cozy lighting. While the overall aesthetic is similar, each location showcases unique elements that are intended to complement the building’s architecture and the natural setting.

Okanagan Golf Club: Kelowna

The renovations at Okanagan Golf Club will see the addition of 13 seats around a newly constructed lounge bar, a lounge area featuring a mix of high-top tables and regular banquette seating, an inviting dining room showcasing a large fireplace, and a new retractable wall to tastefully separate or blend the dining room/lounge with the banquet room. The event space overhaul will offer flexibility for customizing the size of the room, and also includes cutting-edge audio visual, a new fully equipped event bar and a wrap-around patio. Washrooms, locker rooms and Team Member areas (including a state-of-the-art kitchen) are being remodeled. Elements for all areas include new flooring and ceilings, tables, chairs, audio, counter tops, lighting, decor, and functionality improvements for efficient service delivery.
